Two great sites I found are Steffen Christiansen and Alisara Tareekes. Each of these sites are obviously different in their designs but what's similar between them that I loved was their consistencies and the way they presented their works, as well as a few little widgets in their sites.
With Christiansen's site he has a nice esthetic going by making his cover/gallery page mostly grayscale with his logo, his type, and even the colors of his cover images; however, what makes his site cool is that he put in his own overlay image that shows a simple angular design in a cool teal color then puts some information about the work in the box. This creates a nice contrast to the site and gives it a little flair. Another little thing that I found nice was that instead of relying solely on his "Contact" page to give information he has his number and email on the top of every page, consistency.
Alisara Tareekes' website intrigued me for some of the same reasons but in different ways. She created consistency in her site by creating a stichy/leathery esthetic and puts it into almost every aspect of her site that she can. One great example is how she puts a simple border around each of her cover images to set them apart while bringing them together. She also incorporates the colors used in her logo into the site creating a nice connect between the site and her identity.
